Fixed Route

Our fixed-route services are designed with predetermined routes, schedules, and stops. These routes have standard times and designated stops where riders may board, deboard, and switch routes.

ADA Complimentary Paratransit

Our Paratransit Services are designed for persons who are unable to access our fixed routes independently and safely due to physical or mental disabilities.

Deviated Fixed Route Paratransit

A hybrid of fixed-route and demand-response services. Our buses stop at fixed points and keep to the usual timetable but can deviate its course for a pre-scheduled request.

Commuter

Aside from our fixed-route service, we also provide commuter bus service to connect our passengers to other cities and communities for leisure, education, or to your place of employment.

Demand Response

Our Demand Response Services are designed for persons who are unable to access our fixed routes independently and safely. Current service areas include: Marlboro, Marion, and Dillon County.

  • Do I need to have exact change on the Florence Transit System?

    The buses in Florence have automated fare boxes that provide change cards for future use. The fare box accepts $1, $5, $10 or even $20 bills.

  • How can I plan my trip in advance?

    Plan your trip using our trip planner on the home page. Just type in your starting point and destination. Our system will give you a couple of options for your trip, the fare, and the approximate length of the trip.
    If you prefer to map the information out for yourself, you can find all kinds of schedules and maps under our routes section. You can also receive a schedule brochure on board any of our buses.

  • Is PDRTA accessible for people with disabilities?

    PDRTA is committed to providing services to all customers, including passengers with disabilities. PDRTA’s entire fleet is accessible and complies with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) of 1990. In addition, PDRTA offers door-to-door paratransit service for people whose functional ability prevents them from using regular PDRTA services.   • What do I do with my bike on the bus?

    All PDRTA buses have bike racks on the front of them. You simply raise the the two securement arms and place them over your front and rear tires.
    NOTE: When you use the bike racks, please let the driver know you have a bike on the rack when exiting the bus so he or she will wait for you to remove your bike from the rack.

  • What is ADA Complementary Paratransit?

    This is a van service for eligible persons who cannot use the fixed-route bus system and live up to 3/4 of a mile on either side of a transit route. This service is available in Florence, Monday through Friday from 6 AM to 6 PM and on Saturday from 8 AM to 12 PM and then 1 PM - 5 PM. In Darlington, our paratransit services are available Monday through Friday from 7 AM to 4 PM. This service does not currently operate on the weekend.
