Who We Are

We are comprised of approximately 50-100 employees that work hard to ensure your trips around the Pee Dee are as safe and affordable as possible.
By providing fixed-routes, paratransit services, deviated-fixed-routes, commuters, and demand response services, we ensure that no one is excluded from utilizing our transit system.
We provide ongoing updates and informational content on social media. Make sure to give us a follow to stay up to date on community events, weather advisory updates, and much more throughout the Pee Dee.

Our path to today & beyond...

In 1988, PDRTA began transporting inland county residents to the Grand Strand for job opportunities. That tradition continued for over 30 years, with PDRTA being actively involved in the economic development of our region by transporting hundreds to work each day, either on our fixed route system, the Florence Transit system, or via demand-response/Paratransit services.
The Spring of 2013 brought many changes to the contracting and revenue streams for PDRTA. This resulted in a focus-shift to community outreach and building and expanding partnerships. We knew that with the support of local funding, our mission would continue to thrive and grow.
Since 2015, PDRTA has continued to work together with area stakeholders to help meet the needs of the citizens across the Pee Dee Region. These valuable partnerships have helped countless individuals reach their place of employment, medical appointments, educational institutions, shopping, banks, and many other destinations. We are thriving once again in all six counties with plans for expanding services.
PDRTA is fortunate to receive significant local funding from so many in our area such as: CareFirst, CareSouth, First Bank-Main Branch, Genesis Health Care, Hope Health, McLeod Access to Health, Trinity Behavioral Health and so many more. These local funds are used to match both Federal Transit Administration and South Carolina Department of Transportation allocations.
PDRTA cares about the communities we serve. We participate in civic engagements whenever possible across the Pee Dee. We enjoy loving on our community by donating our time and services to those organizations that are near and dear to our hearts.
