With the safety and comfort of their passengers in mind, the Pee
Dee Regional Transit Authority (PDRTA) is extending the Florence
Transit Route 5 line to offer service to the United-Methodist
Manor. According to Executive Director Janice Baroody, "Over the
past several months we noticed that several of our customers were
exiting from the end of the line and walking the rest of the way to
their jobs at the Manor. They were making the approximately mile
and a half walk in all types of weather conditions. Extending Route
5 will make their commute safer and much easier." Extending the
route will also provide more options for many others, including the
residents and staff, to utilize the service.
The route extension will take effect on Wednesday, April
